We ordered starters (mix of everything) with home made bread and Pagar fish and shrimps for main course. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Delicious food, friendly waiters and great Dalmatian atmosphere.

This restaurant is an excellent place to get fresh sea food. Everything comes straight from the sea, cooked, grilled, extremely tasty, right into the plate. If you like fish this is the right place to come. I would recommend to reserve a table in advance.

I went to Pagar based on recommendation from a local friend. When I arrived at the place it looked like a normal restaurant, nothing extraordinary but little would I know I was about to have one of the best meals I had in Croatia. If you are expecting a long menu you are in the wrong place, but if you are up to great food then look no further. The place is run by a family of fishermen who serve their catch with a very unique and “homey” flavor. I had a delicious fish and the scampi homemade pasta. Would repeat this place if I ever go back to Korčula island.

Tucked among ancient stone houses and sun-drenched olive groves, there is a family-run gem called Pagar, a restaurant that doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. It simply is—and it’s glorious. Forget white tablecloths and laminated menus. At Pagar, the sea decides your meal. The father and son who run the restaurant are not just owners—they are legends among the locals, known as two of the island’s finest fishermen. They rise with the sun, cast their nets in the glassy Adriatic, and return with the sea’s freshest gifts. By lunchtime, those same treasures are gently sizzling over a wood-fired grill in the back of the restaurant’s stone courtyard. There is no menu. No QR code. No pretense. You sit down, sip a carafe of local white wine chilled by the breeze itself, and simply trust. Trust the people. Trust the place. Trust the sea. The food? Sublime. Grilled fish kissed by olive oil and wild herbs, octopus so tender it tastes like poetry, and vegetables so full of flavor they seem to have their own heartbeat. Everything is served with a slow, proud smile, as if the land itself is watching and nodding in approval. And the best part? You won’t find crowds here. This is where Croatians go when they want something real—the kind of place where the tables are set for neighbors, not influencers. English is spoken, but rarely. Tourists are treated with warmth, but also with the unspoken understanding that this is sacred ground. So if you’re lucky enough to read this, do yourself (and the locals) a favor: act like you didn’t. Tuck it away. When you make your way to Korčula—and you must—find a way to Pupnat. Take a quiet taxi through the hills, watch the vineyards blur by, and slip into Pagar like a returning family member. Come hungry. Come humble. And come ready for one of the most quietly unforgettable meals of your life.

Incredible gem in the middle of the island. A family restaurant with nice home atmosphere where they serve fresh tasty food from today's catch. Pleasantly greeted by waiter upon arrival, given fresh water, homemade liquor on the house. No classic menu, waiter explained everything available at the table, was very flexible to give us half portion of everything do we try as much as we can. You can pick Fran fish plate, scampi with homemade pasta, etc. All's fresh and homemade. Dessert also on the house, small cake of the day. House wine very tasty. Prices more than fair, you won't get a better deal anywhere in Korčula for such fine food, wine, mood and view. Highly recommended. Thanks for the great dinner and s pleasant evening.
